Floral Arrangements

Floral arrangements should be secured inside the box with cable ties or bands to prevent shifting that can occur during transit. If you will be shipping floral arrangements with a vase, it is advised that the vase is separated from the arrangement with a corrugated divider. It is important to remember that water is prohibited when shipping. Our team will work with you to create a custom designed box to provide a solution specifically tailored to your arrangements.

Plant Seedlings and Plugs

Plant seedlings and plugs are more delicate and require extra attention in order to keep them secure. A great way to package these is with corrugated trays and dividers that can be placed in a shipping container, as seen in the image below. If you’re looking for a more secure option, netting is a great way to hold the plants in. If you are interested in netting, Katzke has various options that you can test out.

Plants

When shipping plants it is important to make sure the plant is secured to prevent damage and breakage. Custom boxes with dividers can be designed to lock the stems in place. It is best to use a divider to separate the plant from the pot to lock it in place. You must cover the pot with a poly bag and secure it around the stem of the plant to ensure the soil is stays in place. You can also place paper packaging to cover the soil if the plant does not have a single main stem.

Packages are subject to extreme temperatures when shipping. In order to prevent perishables from being damaged due to weather conditions, we recommend using an insulated box liner in all flower and plant packages. Katzke specializes in insulated packaging and can help you find the best solution to protecting your shipments. Insulated box liners are custom made to fit your package and will extend the life of the flowers or plants you’re shipping.
